Just finished a 10-day trip in the Blackhills with these. We used the 2023 version as I believe prior versions had some differences.
Having camped for about 20 days already this summer without these covers, I can honestly say these are well worth the investment. We bought them primarily to help with the morning light, and secondly to help insulate and make the A/C and heater work more efficiently. Our children (7, 5, and 5 months) usually sleep in a very dark room until 7:30ish while at home, but after 30 days of tent camping last year, and 20 days of Roo camping this year, they’ve been getting up usually at first light, sometimes as early as 5:30am after which they quickly become full-on divas by 9am. These covers block about 90-95% of the light and actually helped our kids sleep until their usual time while on our trip, so that alone made these worth it.
As far as design/structure goes, there’s still some minimal residual glow from the canvas walls, but most of the light let in is from these not coming all the way to the top of the tip out. There’s about a 1-2″ gap these don’t cover at the top and that little gap lets in a lot of light, This gap is found on all 3 of our covers, 2 sides and 1 front, and only at the top, the sides have 100% coverage. There was a bit of wind on our trip, and I only needed to use the permanently attached velcro at the bottom and the included clips at the top to secure these. One windy day I tried using the included straps but found they annoyingly slapped the bottom of the tip out too much in the wind so I removed them. I was able to clip these on at the top, and left them on the entire trip even when we made two 1-night stops getting out there, we folded these up inside the tip-outs clipped on and they didn’t move. Overall build quality is very good and I can see them lasting for years to come.
As far as insulation goes, the Blackhills were in the high-80’s to mid-90’s during the day and these did an outstanding job of keeping our unit cool (we had the silver side facing out the whole time). When we setup it was about 82 in the trailer, but within an hour we were down to about 72 with the A/C full blast. Before these covers, it would have taken all day to cool it down 10 degrees in that kind of heat. A few nights it got down into the 50’s and as low as 60 inside the trailer, chilly for even me. We used a “small” Lasko tower space heater and that heated the whole unit up to 66 in less than an hour and got so hot, we shut the heater off. I say these provided outstanding heating and cooling insulation.
As far as the company and shipping go, shipping was very fast and their customer service was very responsive and helpful. A great overall company to deal with.

If there was a 10 star option I would be choosing it!!! This is the first time I’ve ever written a review for anything. These covers are absolutely amazing. We have a rockwood roo 235s and last night was the first time using them and let me tell you that there was no difference in temperature between the bunks and actual trailer. Without them the bunks were always damp and cold but not anymore!! Absolutely amazing product. Will never own another trailer without them!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
