Gekko Popout Covers include a layer of protection against the elements but this layer can begin to degrade over time. Once the protective layer breaks down, UV damage will begin to occur and your Gekko Popout Cover may become brittle, deteriorate, and lose it waterproofing qualities.
To receive the maximum life out of your Gekko pop out covers we recommend a minimum yearly treatment with Star Brite® Ultimate Fabric Guard. This spray restores water repelling action, help to block harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun that causes deterioration and weathering, and prevents mildew from forming. If your Gekko popout covers are exposed to prolonged sun daily it is recommend to have them treated every 1-2 months.
Star Brite® Ultimate Fabric Guard is safe to use on pop-out fabric for pop up campers and hybrid campers and can also be used on Sunbrella® fabrics. When using on trailer fabrics be sure to test the colorfastness of the material by spraying in an inconspicuous area and wiping the area while wet to see if the color transfers before applying.
Give your Gekko Pop-out Cover and your trailer fabric the love it deserves

Does the Gekko Cover come treated for the Sun or do you have to treat it prior to instalation ?
Hello Russell, the Gekko covers are factory treated and the vinyl fabric is resistant to UV damage however we do recommend treating with fabric guard every 6 to 12 months depending on how often the covers are used to avoid UV damage.
Do you have a video on this process? Specially the cleaning with water!!
Hello, currently we do not have a video but the process is simple, just spray with water and use a small brush if needed.
What keeps water from getting between cover and canvas?
Hello Sarah. The cover is designed to tuck underneath the j-channel so that water does not enter between the cover and the canvas.
